Rooftop Series #1 Peninsula Plaza

View from a carparking deck in the heart of the city.
Discovering unfamiliar places with a nice view and a less crowded place has always been a goal of mine whenever I visit a new place. Hence, my fascination to roof tops developed. When you accidentally spot one, it is such a bliss to see it's hidden beauty from that certain area.

Singapore has a lot of rooftops to offer. It has a variety of usage like bars, carparking areas, public parks and observation decks as well.

For the first Rooftop Series, Peninsula Plaza will be featured in travel salad blog. Here it goes! :)

From Funan entrance along Coleman Street, you will be able to see the Peninsula Plaza carparking deck at its podium. This 1981 mixed-use building is consisting of 30 storeys (24 storeys : office tower; 6 storeys : shopping complex). It is situated at 111 North Bridge road. Brief details on how to go there can be found in the latter part of this blog.

A nearby cathedral, which was built in the 1860s, is also visible from this rooftop. St. Andrew's Cathedral is just a walking distance and is just opposite Peninsula Plaza.

Peninsula Plaza building was designed by Alfred Wong Partnership architecture firm. You can see the style of Gothic-revival being incorporated in the said structure like numerous column arches both at Level 1 and to its facade in the podium.
